Quit Doubting Yourself

Since 1959 Barbie has been cultivating a message to young girls that they can BE ANYTHING. Ruth Handler, inventor of the Barbie noticed her daughter Barbara was playing futuristic imaginary with her paper dolls. Ruth saw that the clothes were ripping and decided to go to the drawing board and create a 3D doll, one that her daughter could actually change the outfits on and the doll could take on a life like roll. BARBIE was BORN.

Ruth and her husband founded Mattel and after a long struggle to sell barbie to the market place they succeeded. Ruth’s vision was simple, “My whole philosophy of Barbie was that, through the doll the little girl could be anything she wanted to be. Barbie always represented the fact that a woman has choices.”

Ruth was an expert inventor and business woman, no doubt. But the question still stands, “Why is it as women so hard to believe we can “be anything?” The inspiration is there and my goodness the visual of Barbie is there, yet studies show by the time a little girl is 5 years old she begins to organize in her mind self-limiting beliefs.

So, my Passion is HOW DO WE CULTIVATE HEALTHY SELF-LIMITLESS BELIEFS? If Barbie is targeting young girls to believe in themselves we as the Church should too.

I will tell you it’s not by accident that you woke up discouraged or you had a overwhelming fear when you took on that new job, or you heard a small voice saying, “you are going to fail.”

The enemy of our soul hates that you have PURPOSE on your LIFE. Let’s call HIM on the CARPET… the lying LIZARD is just that, a LIAR. He starts from a young age and tries to weave lies into our minds. He exhaust us with feelings of failure and he makes LOUD the voices that are negative in our life.

Paul understood the POWER of BELIEVING in HIMSELF even in the midst of extreme difficulty.

“We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.” 2 Cor. 6:3-10 NIV

“The Holy Writings say, “I believe, so I speak.” We have the same kind of faith that David had. WE ALSO BELIEVE SO WE SPEAK.
— 2 Cor. 4:13

Quit Doubting and Start Believing. No matter what has been told to you or spoken over you that has been negative or discouraging, SPEAK LIFE. Forgive and release your hurts to God. He cares about your PURPOSE. He wants you to step into all that HE has called and destined you to do. If Ruth Handler believed she could invent something that could inspire young girls to play and dream the impossible, so can you. Create, Invent, Dream and Run toward your God-given Potential. Girl, you’re worth it.

We have this light from God in our human bodies. This shows that the power is from God. It is not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side but we still have room to move. We are often in much trouble, but we NEVER give up.
— 2 Cor. 4:7-8
